How to Choose Suitable Plastic Pallet?
The selection of plastic pallets should be comprehensively considered based on the load-bearing requirements, usage scenarios, and budget. The following are the key points:
1. Material selection
Polyethylene (PE): impact resistant, low temperature resistant, suitable for storage at room temperature;
Polypropylene (PP): High hardness, good heat resistance, suitable for high temperature or chemical corrosion environments.
2. Structure type
Nine-leg type: lightweight, suitable for short-term turnover;
Three-runner shaped: Strong load-bearing capacity, supports four-way forks, suitable for forklift operations;
Six-runner shaped: Closed structure, good anti slip performance, suitable for heavy goods;
Double-sided: Available on both sides, with high space utilization but high cost.
3. Load bearing capacity
Injection molded three-runner style pallet: dynamic load of 1-2 ton, static load of 4 tons, shelf load of 1-2 tons;
Blow molded double-sided tray: dynamic load of 2 tons, static load of 6 tons.
It is necessary to match the pallet type according to the actual weight of the goods to avoid overloading and damaging the pallet or causing safety hazards.
4. Sizing
Standard sizes include 1200 × 1000mm, 1100 × 1100mm, etc., which need to match the operating space of shelves and forklifts;
When the budget is limited, a nine-leg design (with lower cost) can be considered, and for high load-bearing and stacking requirements, three-runner or six-runner shapes are recommended.
5. Precautions
Prioritize selecting suppliers who have passed ISO certification to ensure product quality and after-sales service;
Blow molded trays can increase their load-bearing capacity by adding weight, while injection molded trays with steel bars can enhance their performance.
